Galaxy Pulsar is a standalone light-weight server that can be deployed on dedicated or cloud resources; it provides a method for handling remote Galaxy job execution, ensuring the requisite provenance information is exchanged. In the context of CloudMan, it can be used for cloud bursting by acting as a target end-point for a remote Galaxy instance. See this presentation for more details.

Pulsar service can be started from the CloudMan Admin page by clicking on the Start button next to the service name. once running, it is available from remote destinations on port 8914.
